Under limited supervision, responsible for selecting and negotiating, with approved domestic and international vendors and placing purchase, orders in response to product requirements established by various, departments within the organizations, evaluates bids, selects, and recommends suppliers and negotiates pricy, quality and service. Expedites the procurement of parts or materials in, short or critical supply. Performs market analyses and competitive, evaluations. Negotiates and settles with suppliers regarding damage, claims, rejections, losses, return of materials, over-shipments, cancellations, and engineering changes. May conduct supplier site visits, and rate them as to production capability, performance, and delivery. May provide work leadership for lower-level employees.

Requirements

  • Requires a bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education, and experience.
  • Requires at least 5 years related experienced, knows a wide range concepts and approaches including purchasing for, lean manufacturing, Kanban, and supplier development.
  • Requires strong, negotiation abilities and above average analytical skills.
  • Shows, excellent verbal and written communication skills including with, executives or in international contexts.
  • Requires knowledge of raw, materials, production processes and quality control.
  • Competent in, computerized procurement systems.
  • Requires advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • May require MS Access experience.

Responsibilities
