About The Position

Epirus E pirus is a high-growth technology company dedicated to overcoming the asymmetric challenges inherent to the future of national security. Epirus' flagship product, Leonidas, is a software-defined system built using intelligent power management techniques which allow power-hungry systems to do more with less. Job Summary: As a Buyer, you will be responsible for sourcing critical production components, managing Bills of Materials (BOMs), and ensuring materials are available for teams building next-gen hardware and integrated systems. You’ll be hands-on in a fast-paced environment, supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) programs and production scale-up. You’ll collaborate with engineering, supply chain, quality, and program teams to ensure timely, cost-effective, and high-quality procurement. Your attention to detail and proactive mindset will help mitigate risk and keep projects on track from prototype to full-rate production.

Requirements

  • BS degree in Engineering, Physics, Statistics, Industrial Engineering, Accounting, Economics, Supply Chain, Business, or related field and 2+ years of procurement experience
  • Understanding of supplier risk identification, mitigation and contingency planning
  • Understanding of negotiation of price and terms and conditions
  • ITAR REQUIREMENTS: To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.

Nice To Haves

  • 3+ years' experience in a NPI, automotive, defense, commercial electronics, or aerospace
  • Knowledge of FAR/DFAR, CPSR, DPAS ratings a plus – but not required
  • Deep understanding of query languages and data analytics
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Collaborative; capable of working across all levels of the organization
  • Organized; comfortable working in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment

Responsibilities

  • Execute sourcing activities for COTS materials and support procurement agents an as required for schedule success
  • Place purchase orders in alignment with materials requirements and delivery schedule
  • Own end-to-end procurement process including RFQ issuance, T&Cs redline suggestions for contracts review, PO issuance, PO management and on time delivery, past due PO management, invoicing accuracy, problem invoice
  • Support engineering change management through BOM revisions and sourcing impact analysis
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to influence part selection and supplier qualification
  • Monitor and manage supplier performance for quality, cost, and on-time delivery
  • Escalate and mitigate supply chain risks; help develop contingency plans
  • Drive continuous improvement in procurement processes, systems, and vendor relationships
  • Maintain accurate procurement documentation and system records
  • Contribute to our inclusive and accountable culture through respectful, team-oriented communication
