About The Position

As a Buyer supporting Manufacturing at Alcon, you will manage the purchasing process to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of goods and services necessary for operations at Sinking Spring, PA. This role involves sourcing and procuring indirect purchases, selecting suppliers, processing orders, and managing supplier relationships to support manufacturing needs.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +8 yrs; Assoc.+4 yrs).
• Ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English.

Responsibilities

• Source and procure indirect purchases such as machine parts, spare parts, maintenance services, and office supplies.
• Select suppliers based on quality, cost, and reliability.
• Process orders and ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
• Obtain quotes from suppliers to ensure competitive pricing.
• Use company credit card (Pcard) for purchases and ensure compliance with company policies.
• Manage monthly reconciliation of Pcard transactions using Concur.
• Utilize Guided Buying processes to accurately enter purchase orders (P.O.s) into SAP.
• Approve invoices for payment, particularly for service related P.O.s.
• Ensure all P.O.s are fulfilled and paid, addressing any issues promptly.
• Respond to monthly Overdue PO Notification emails and resolve Past Due Guided Buying P.O. Reports.
• Address monthly emails listing Blocked Invoices and resolve issues.
• Provide monthly accrual information as required.
• Onboard new suppliers and ensure all necessary documentation is completed.
• Maintain and update supplier information as needed.
• Obtain Tax Exempt Certificates and Certificates of Liability for vendors as required.
