About The Position

The Buyer is responsible for purchasing quality materials, supplies, and services to support manufacturing operations. Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, the Buyer will qualify suppliers according to ISO 13485 requirements, negotiate contracts, and maintain key performance indicators to drive departmental improvements. The role requires making both long-term and short-term decisions that align with team goals and business objectives.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of purchasing experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
• ISO 13485 or other QMS experience preferred
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Strong organizational skills and understanding of sourcing
• Ability to maintain both internal and external relationships
• Strict attention to detail and accuracy
• Adaptability and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

• Create, issue and manage purchase orders in ERP system
• Proactively respond to manufacturing requirements by expediting, cancelling or delaying purchases as needed
• Work with suppliers to resolve any quality or material availability issues in a timely manner
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to communicate potential and/or confirmed issues
• Ensure inventory levels are aligned with production and sales volumes
• Assist team members with receiving and invoicing questions relating to purchase orders
• Assist Inventory Control to resolve inventory discrepancies
• Participate in special projects as needed
