About The Position

The Buyer at Adient Aerospace is responsible for procuring goods and services at competitive prices while ensuring timely delivery and high quality. This role involves issuing purchase orders, negotiating prices, and maintaining effective communication with suppliers and internal teams to meet production requirements.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required; Bachelor's degree is desired.
• Experience can range from entry-level to experienced candidates.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in procurement or supply chain management is preferred.
• Strong negotiation skills.
• Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.

Responsibilities

• Make daily purchases based on requisitions and analyze quality, specifications, and delivery requirements.
• Send out quotations for bids on non-contracted items and negotiate the best price.
• Enter purchase orders into the system and issue them to suppliers via fax or email.
• Review purchase orders weekly and follow up on past due items and upcoming requirements.
• Highlight problem areas and report them to the Purchasing Director.
• Interact with Planning and Production to ensure changes in production requirements are communicated to suppliers.
• Generate effective communication and maintain good relationships with suppliers and co-workers.
• Liaise with planners to control scheduling of parts to meet stock level demands.
• Review Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and communicate corrective actions to suppliers.
• Update suppliers with engineering changes and drawings.
• Review supplier performance and locate new suppliers if necessary.
