About The Position

As the Buyer at Heatcraft, you will assist in determining the quality and order date for materials needed to meet the production needs. This role involves initiating purchase or production requisitions as appropriate and maintaining appropriate inventory levels using MRP and reorder point planning. You will manage the purchasing cycle, including converting requisitions to purchase orders, following up on POs, material receipt, and invoice reconciliation. Additionally, you will assist in developing and maintaining supplier relationships, identifying and resolving supply issues, expediting critical orders, and resolving invoice discrepancies. You will also be responsible for validating and meeting the monthly inventory days of supply by product code and facilitating the reduction of excess inventory. Key metrics of network and facing fill rates, days of supply, and inventory versus plan will be part of your responsibilities. Coordination with Sourcing, Demand Planning, Deployment Planning, and Material Master in planning executable inventory levels will also be required.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree is preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least 1 year of related experience.
  • APICS or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Developing understanding of the product life cycle and underlying business planning requirements.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Good organization skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Solid Customer Relations skills.
  • Inventory analysis proficiency; good analytical, mathematical and problem solving skills.
  • Proficient in standard Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
  • Good knowledge of SAP or other advanced planning system.
  • Technology Knowledge of Supply Chain Management, purchasing, inventory planning.

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with advanced planning systems beyond SAP.

Responsibilities
