About The Position

Join Atlas Copco as a Buyer or Senior Buyer where you will place and manage all purchase orders associated with the procurement of material, services, and commodities for the assigned departments. You will also make purchases in a cost efficient and effective manner to support manufacturing schedules following procedures. The role will vary based on experience and qualifications, with higher expectations and responsibilities for the Senior Buyer position. As part of the Sourcing Team, you will report to the Sourcing Team Leader and work with engineering, quality, and project management. This is a hybrid position located in Voorheesville, NY.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• At least 2 years of sourcing/business work experience.
• Experience using an ERP system and Excel.
• Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
• Comfortable sourcing technical components and working with other departments.
• Sharp eye for detail and capacity to juggle multiple priorities.

Nice To Haves

• At least 7 years of sourcing/business related work experience.
• Experience negotiating and conflict-resolution.
• Ability to travel 25-50% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Place and manage all purchase orders for material, services, and commodities.
• Make purchases in a cost efficient and effective manner to support manufacturing schedules.
• Participate in ongoing communication using the eSourcing tool, email, and internal meetings.
• Support supplier management by focusing on fulfillment and managing relationships through eSourcing tool.
• Process requisitions with a focus on overdue purchase orders and supplier acknowledgement.
• Perform data analysis using the ERP, Excel, Power BI, and eSourcing tool.
• Inspire collaboration by promoting a culture of shared goals and mutual respect.
• Direct supplier negotiation and provide support to team members on negotiation tactics and skills.
• Manage suppliers by providing feedback, on-boarding new suppliers, and establishing long-term agreements.
• Drive continuous improvement of sourcing operations.
