About The Position
The Buyer/Senior Buyer position at Central Michigan University is responsible for all activities concerning the purchase of complex commodity assignments of material and services for the operation of the university. This includes assignments of major contracts and the authority to independently make purchasing decisions. The role requires research and analysis of purchasing to ensure effective procurement of goods and services, particularly in technology-related areas such as computers, networking hardware, software licenses, and cloud-based services. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in technology trends and able to collaborate with IT and academic departments.
