About The Position

We're looking for a Buyer’s Technical Writer for Amentum's Missile Defense Division. The Buyer’s Technical Representative reports to the Subcontracts Management Lead within the Enterprise Management (EM) Division supporting the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) Contract. The Buyer’s Technical Writer will be a contracts and subcontracts team member and support the following functions: subcontract administration, requirements development & strategy, and program management. The candidate will be responsible for the following: Write, develop, and edit a range of documentation including: Statements of Work Performance Work Statements Training materials and tutorials Acquisition notes and internal process documents (SOPs). Translate complex, technical information into clear, concise, legally sound, and enforceable contractual language. Review material for clarity, accuracy, grammar, and consistency with established style guides and templates. Research and gather technical information by performing tactical and strategic market research, interviewing subject matter experts (SMEs), and collaborating with requirements owners, project managers, and acquisition leaders. Participate in discussions regarding pre-award acquisition planning discussion as well as contract modifications. Determine the stakeholder needs and appropriately develop well-written technical requirement documentation. Make revisions to technical documentation as necessary to capture changed requirements. Assist the procurement and project teams in the technical evaluation of supplier proposals, ensuring they align with the requirements outlined in the SOW. Customer Engagement and Collaboration: Interface with stakeholders and requestors Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with owner needs, compliance with FAR/DFARS, and market capabilities. The successful candidate will: Have excellent written and verbal communication skills Be able to translate complex jargon into simple, plain language. Be able to quickly grasp and understand complex technical concepts and new technologies. Have meticulous attention to detail to ensure the accuracy and technical correctness of documentation. Have strong interpersonal skills to work effectively within cross-functional teams and build consensus among stakeholders with differing priorities. Be able to work in fast-paced environments Have successful experience with a variety of personalities and backgrounds in the workplace Resumes, in month and year format, must be submitted with application in order to be considered for the position. Requirements

  • Must have 6, or more, years of general (full-time) work experience
  • May be reduced with completion of advanced education
  • Must have 3, or more, years of directly related experience working in integrated project team format to develop requirements and technical documentation specifically focused on writing and developing Statements of Work (SOWs), Requests for Proposals (RFPs), or similar technical requirement documents
  • Must have, or obtain, an active DoD Secret Security Clearance
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Be able to translate complex jargon into simple, plain language.
  • Be able to quickly grasp and understand complex technical concepts and new technologies.
  • Have meticulous attention to detail to ensure the accuracy and technical correctness of documentation.
  • Have strong interpersonal skills to work effectively within cross-functional teams and build consensus among stakeholders with differing priorities.

  • Have strong research skills to gather information from various sources and analytical skills to organize it logically.
  • Have experience with the end-to-end procurement process, from initial market research through to contract negotiation and award.
