Buyer(Retail/Foodservice)

Capitol City Produce is looking for a high-energy Buyer, Retail/Foodservice to join our Procurement team!
This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a perishable, ever-changing market and loves building strong relationships with growers, suppliers, and customers.

Requirements

• 1–3 years of purchasing/procurement experience (preferred) in food/produce, retail, or foodservice
• Strong negotiation skills and attention to detail
• Great communication and teamwork skills
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with quick deadlines
• Organized, motivated, and ready to take ownership
• Experience with business software (Google Suite preferred)

Responsibilities

• Purchasing and replenishing fresh produce items while keeping high fill rates and minimizing waste
• Building strong relationships with customers for promotions and product planning
• Partnering with growers and suppliers to negotiate pricing, programs, and terms
• Monitoring seasonality, quality conditions, and market trends
• Creating and managing accurate purchase orders (POs) and resolving discrepancies
• Collaborating across Sales, Marketing, and Operations to keep everything running smoothly
