About The Position

Buyer(Retail/Foodservice) Do you love a fast-paced environment, solving problems on the fly, and making sure customers get the freshest produce possible? Capitol City Produce is looking for a high-energy Buyer, Retail/Foodservice to join our Procurement team! This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a perishable, ever-changing market and loves building strong relationships with growers, suppliers, and customers. What You’ll Be Doing: As our Buyer, you’ll help keep our retail grocery and foodservice customers stocked and satisfied by: Purchasing and replenishing fresh produce items while keeping high fill rates and minimizing waste Building strong relationships with customers for promotions and product planning Partnering with growers and suppliers to negotiate pricing, programs, and terms Monitoring seasonality, quality conditions, and market trends Creating and managing accurate purchase orders (POs) and resolving discrepancies Collaborating across Sales, Marketing, and Operations to keep everything running smoothly What We’re Looking For: 1–3 years of purchasing/procurement experience (preferred) in food/produce, retail, or foodservice Strong negotiation skills and attention to detail Great communication and teamwork skills Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with quick deadlines Organized, motivated, and ready to take ownership Experience with business software (Google Suite preferred) Why Capitol City Produce? Requirements
