The Job: As a Buyer/Planner, you’ll be part of our STANLEY® Engineered Fastening (“SEF”) Hopkinsville, KY Team working as an onsite employee.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Minimum of five plus years related experience with evidence of increasing responsibility preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Excellent organizational skills in order to establish priorities identify and set goals, meet deadlines, etc.
  • Proficiency with tools/equipment related to job (i.e. personal computers/software, manufacturing systems, etc.).
  • Excellent problem-solving and negotiation skills.
  • Must be flexible in work schedule and hours. Standard work hours will generally apply but overtime and deviated work schedules (early, late, weekends) will be required on occasion and often without notice.
  • Must have the ability and flexibility to travel by automobile, airplane, bus, train, boat, etc. Some domestic, US. Minimal, if any international travel.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with JDE operating system.
  • Experience in automotive work environment preferred.
  • Experience in international purchasing
  • Knowledge of heat-treating and plating preferred.
  • Familiar with PPAP process and requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Forecasting, planning, and scheduling of purchased materials for our manufacturing plant.
  • Planning and maintaining accurate inventory levels and control to assure 100% customer service levels while minimizing the corporation's financial exposure.
  • Analyzing inventory and resolving discrepancies.
  • Quoting, purchasing, and ordering of raw materials, components, assemblies, tooling and equipment.
  • Interacting with suppliers and cross functional in-house teams.
  • Negotiating prices for one-time purchases as well as strategic price agreements.
  • Releasing purchase orders and establishing contracts in accordance with corporate policies.
  • Ensuring on-time delivery of purchases as well as timely and accurate purchase order maintenance.
  • Evaluating relevant commodities and identifying areas for supplier development, supplier de-sourcing, and supplier additions.
  • Project managing the supplier launch process.
  • Managing the steps and activities of the Supplier Performance Management Program (including but not limited to calculating scorecards, liaison meetings, audits, surveys, and overall improvement activities).
  • Other duties as assigned.
