The Hypersonic Vehicle Systems team is growing and comprises a cross-disciplinary group of industry veterans and young talent alike. The focus is on the development of hypervelocity vehicles and associated Guidance, Navigation and Control Systems. The team is a tight-knit group of collaboration-oriented professionals that welcome others looking to work on multi-faceted, complex problems as a team. Our team in East Aurora, NY is looking for a skilled Buyer/Planner to join their dynamic team. You will report to the Manager of Production Planning & Control for the site and will enjoy an on-site work schedule. As our Buyer/Planner, you will make critical contributions by holding responsibility for:

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or relevant field.
  • 2 years of prior relevant experience
  • Solid understanding of the theoretical concepts and principles of supply chain, procurement, materials management and production planning
  • Strong technical skills to include intermediate-level knowledge of MS Excel (and the entire MS Office suite); SAP experience is helpful!

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing the design, implementation, or delivery of projects, processes, or programs
  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI) processes, collaborating with multiple departments to help reduce cost, optimize resource allocation and improve efficiency
  • Procuring products/goods/services from suppliers to customers for a variety of business processes
  • Product/service sourcing, supplier selection, pricing/terms negotiation, order processing, contract administration, and supplier performance management.
  • Finished goods demand inventory planning and production planning and control to achieve targeted quality, wastage, and inventory levels
  • Movement, storage, and inventory control of materials, finished goods, tools, and packaging materials
  • Import/export and customs management, including freight forwarding services
