Purchasing Place Purchase Orders (POs) from pre-approved suppliers and Transfer Orders (TOs) from other Daktronics factories to meet demand. Ensure the appropriate inventory is ordered on time and at the appropriate volume to support the Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and Master Production Schedule (MPS). Work with our suppliers to expedite or de-expedite material as required by the MRP/MPS process and follow the escalation process when issues arise. Manage PO status, completing status calls and interacting with suppliers to ensure prompt inventory materials delivery. Coordinate with Quality Engineering to process part RMA requests. Scheduling Create Work Orders based on factory demands and schedule these work orders to be completed on various Production Schedules. Ensure work orders are scheduled to be completed on time to meet our customer’s shipping dates. Respond to production escalations accordingly and accurately, rescheduling work orders and all feeder department work orders as necessary. Strategic Planning Manage the effective dates of part changes initiated via Engineering Change (EC) Requests, ensuring the date of change effectively uses up old part stock prior to changing to new part. Initiate/Change/Cancel Supplier Consignment and Order Release Program contracts with our vendors based on analysis of production needs. Review all parts assigned to you semiannually for part attribute accuracy, reviewing order policy, delivery frequency, MOQ, Order Multiple, and Lead Times. Manage the factory kanban program, deciding what stock to hold at all times. Continuous Improvement Identify and complete continuous improvement projects within the Materials scope of responsibility. Manage material flow and analyze the impact of production actuals on dollars remaining in inventory. Become knowledgeable of and follow company procedures. Perform other duties as assigned and needed to meet Daktronics growth and customer expectations. Where is this opportunity located? This position is located in Sioux Falls, South Dakota in our Sioux Falls Manufacturing department. The Sioux Falls Manufacturing Plant is responsible for the timely and quality production of digital billboards, LVX displays, and additional products as business needs demand.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Math, Business, Economics, Finance, Operations Management, or a comparable field is required.
  • Good computer skills.
  • Primary software includes Glovia, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Able to successfully participate as a member of a team and also be self-driven to work independently.
  • Effectively exercise discretion and independent judgment.
  • Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
  • Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
