About The Position

Responsible for scheduling and releasing shop orders, maintaining balanced work center loads. Overseeing/buying supply of raw materials, managing and scheduling Shop Order’s outside OPs. Ensures work is scheduled appropriately to meet customer requirements. Participates as a team player with manufacturing supervisors to accomplish "On Time Delivery" and pre-determined manufacturing goals. Oversee the completion of various reporting tools to support manufacturing goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering/business/supply chain
  • Manufacturing related discipline plus 3-4 yrs. experience in production planning/scheduling.
  • Familiar with manufacturing in a metal-cutting environment includes turning, milling, w/ a thorough understanding of various metal cutting tools.
  • 2-3 years’ experience with an ERP system, IFS preferred.
  • Demonstrate Strong Microsoft office skills with emphasis in Excel.
  • Display strong communication skills and be capable of working from verbal and/or written instructions with minimum supervision.
  • The individual must perform his/her duties in conjunction with EHS personnel, in such a manner that neither he nor others are jeopardized in regard to safety.
  • Must be able to speak English and work in team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize IFS queries to determine newly released shop order requisitions, create shop orders and schedule to meet customer needs, manage smooth flow and release of shop orders to manufacturing.
  • Manage manufacturing work center workload and maintain balanced IFS graphs. Communicate with management when demand exceeds capacity to determine appropriate action to alleviate overloaded condition.
  • Schedule all shop orders for machine shops using IFS Scheduling software tools.
  • Maintain production capacity charts and attend production meetings.
  • Determines priority of manufacturing projects based on need and identifies expediting requirements.
  • Identify Bottlenecks and Constraints at Work centers and work with manufacturing to determine options for alternative internal solutions.
  • Coordinate outsourcing of shop orders requiring special processing and offloading of manufacturing shop orders.
  • Buying raw materials used in manufacture of piece parts.
  • Oversees the completion of the following reports, maintain dashboards, and activities, on time delivery charts for shop floor, daily scrap report, daily expedite list, planning orders, oversupply report, late shop order query, weekly shop order load report.
  • Additional responsibilities and duties may be assigned.
