B. Braun Medical Inc. is seeking a Buyer/Planner to join our Site Supply Chain organization. This pivotal role is responsible for applying supply chain management concepts in a global business environment to ensure the continuity of materials supply, quality, and overall cost management in alignment with company policies and operational performance standards. The Buyer/Planner will play a crucial role in achieving key performance indicators such as customer service levels, production schedule attainment, and inventory coverage. In this position, the Buyer/Planner will establish specifications regarding optimal purchasing quantities, required quality, and the cost implications on the budget. The role involves selecting suppliers based on product type, quality, and potential for partnership, as well as negotiating contracts that encompass costs, delivery, handling, and penalties for late deliveries or cost overruns. The Buyer/Planner will manage the purchasing cycle, which includes generating requisitions, creating purchase orders, following up on orders, receiving goods, and processing final payments. Additionally, the Buyer/Planner will monitor supplier performance through the Supplier Scorecard program and take necessary actions based on the outcomes. This role also requires the creation, monitoring, verification for data accuracy, and maintenance of applicable planning master data in the ERP system. The Buyer/Planner will determine inventory management strategies to minimize investment while managing inventories to optimal levels based on manufacturing requirements and company financial objectives. Identifying process and system improvement opportunities and implementing solutions to drive inventory reduction and eliminate non-value-added activities will also be key responsibilities. The position may involve controlling incoming freight and handling costs, and other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
