About The Position

The Buyer / Planner - Inventory Analyst position is responsible for managing purchasing policies and requisition procedures, establishing relationships with suppliers, and ensuring timely delivery of quality items. The role involves evaluating prices, administering purchase orders, and resolving any issues related to shortages or discrepancies in invoices. The position also requires recommending and implementing systems to improve inventory management and purchasing efficiency.

Requirements

• Fluent in MS Office, specifically Excel for metrics reporting.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to speak and understand Mandarin/Chinese.
• Ability to apply mathematical operations to tasks such as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.

• Experience in purchasing, analysis, forecasting, and vendor communication.

Responsibilities

• Communicate purchasing policies and requisition procedures to all requesters in the designated area of responsibility.
• Establish and maintain rapport and business association with suppliers.
• Obtain vendor technical and operating expertise as required to support company design and manufacturing personnel.
• Evaluate quoted prices by price and/or cost analysis and prepare a formal and comparative bid abstract.
• Administer purchase orders after award and negotiate changes that may develop prior to completion.
• Resolve promptly any problems which might occur to ensure timely delivery of the item with the quality specified.
• Resolve shortages, rejected parts, and any situations wherein supplier invoices or discount action is at variance with order conditions.
• Recommend and implement systems and procedures which reduce inventory and lead-time, increase purchasing efficiency, and reduce cost.
