About The Position

This Buyer role has an emphasis on supporting our Limited Energy divisions. This role responsible for assisting the Sales and Operations teams with the management and administration of material, tool and consumable procurement for various projects. This position assists with the evaluation of vendor quotes and services to determine most desirable suppliers and delivery based on project site budgets and schedule requirements. This position works directly with a variety of individuals and departments.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Five (5) years of distributor experience, vendor relations, purchasing, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of Limited Energy industry, equipment, tools, supplies and materials.
  • Intermediate proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Ability to work with a flexible and collaborative work style to manage changing priorities.
  • Demonstrated success working with immediate team members and other departments to build effective relationships.
  • Ability to communicate clearly in verbal and written form.
  • Excellent customer service, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to set and meet deadlines.
  • Negotiation skills or experience.

Nice To Haves

  • College degree in vendor relations, purchasing or a related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Works to support preconstruction, sales, project managers, warehouse and field operations.
  • Collaborates with these teams and to lead pricing and procurement activities across multiple Limited Energy divisions for project buyouts and inventory purchases.
  • Negotiates with vendors on agreements and orders in concert and at the direction of the Purchasing Manager, VP of Purchasing and Divisional Leaders.
  • Manages purchase order and subcontract administration, change order management, and closures, using Spectrum and Remarcable software.
  • Assists the Warehouse Manager with logistical, inventory and tool strategies directly related to the Fire Alarm, A/V, Power Door and other specialized systems as needed.
  • Sets up new vendors and maintain vendor files.
  • Completes tax exempt certificates to vendors and maintains internal filing system.
  • Communicates proactively to address and solve issues as they arise including but not limited to tracking of backorders and entering key dates in internal tracking system.
  • Adheres to purchasing and inventory policies, processes and procedures.
  • Works with accounting and vendors to resolve invoice discrepancies.
