About The Position

Brewer Science, Inc. is a major innovator of high-technology solutions for the semiconductor / microelectronics markets. We are currently seeking a purpose-driven candidate with an ownership mentality to fill an open position as a Buyer III. This position will be located in Rolla, MO. Summary: Buyers are responsible for the management of records regarding ordering, receiving, storing, issuing, and supplying equipment. This also includes procuring goods and services required to operate the business and manufacturing aspects of the company.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in business, materials management, logistics, supply chain, manufacturing technology or related field and 4+ years’ experience in related field or Bachelor’s degree in business administration, materials management, logistics, supply chain, manufacturing technology, or related field and 2+ years’ experience in related field and 4+ years' experience using ERP software or An equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Generate and manage purchase orders to ensure accurate and timely delivery of materials.
  • Monitor and track shipments, addressing any issues that may arise to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Maintain day-to-day vendor relationships and ensure vendor’s compliance with corporate requirements.
  • Optimize shipments and order quantities to maximize inventory turnover while minimizing shipment costs.
  • Participate in purchasing process improvements.
  • Monitor inventory levels of manufacturing items for system accuracy or optimization.
  • Monitor the purchasing reporting system to keep all records accurate.
  • Manage inventory usage rates and lead times to optimize safety stocks and inventory levels.
  • Coordinate with manufacturing and planning departments on any shortages or supply disruptions.
  • Interface with quality team on any quality related supply disruptions.
  • Keep accurate records of supplier performance, including delivery and customer service metrics.
  • Train new employees on purchase requisitions, systems and processes as well as be an ongoing trusted resource for user support.
  • Serve as a super user for ERP purchasing module
  • Work with operations ERP super user on advanced supply chain planning module for continuous improvement.
  • Negotiate favorable terms, pricing, and contracts to ensure cost-effectiveness and reliability.
  • Understand, drive and control Incoterms as needed to ensure best shipping method and freight terms.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand procurement needs and develop strategic sourcing plans.
  • Discover and implement cost-saving initiatives and strategies to optimize procurement processes.
  • Collaborate with quality control and production teams to ensure that purchased materials meet specified quality standards.
  • Address any quality issues with suppliers and work towards continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and ethical standards.
  • Stay informed about changes in regulations affecting the procurement of materials.
  • Analyze and report on key performance indicators related to buying activities.
  • Evaluate materials needed by manufacturing and planning teams while comparing data with Supplier forecasts.
  • Conduct market research to stay informed on industry trends, pricing, and availability of materials/resources.
  • Manage all purchasing inputs on supplier scorecards.
  • Run reports daily to push out material requisitions for processing of purchase orders.
  • Collaborate with the quality control team to ensure that chemical raw materials meet the required quality standards.
  • Maintain supplier relationships to attain service targets, ensure flexibility and on-time delivery.
  • Optimize shipments and order quantities to maximize inventory turnover while minimizing shipment costs.
