V2X is seeking a procurement professional to join the Modernization & Sustainment Acquisition team. TheBuyer I is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, awarding, documenting, and managing suppliers for both material and service-based requirements. In this role, the person will be responsible for placing requirements on purchase order in the most efficient and compliant manner.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and job skills can be obtained.
  • A minimum of 0-2 years of directly related government or industrial purchasing or subcontracting experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, being able to present financial information clearly and succinctly.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to exchange information and interface effectively with suppliers are required.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and Company Proprietary data.
  • Ability to balance workload by multi-tasking
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills

Nice To Haves

  • Prior procurement experience
  • Experience using SAP (Procurement functions, Business Warehouse, Business Objects)
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (including Pivot Tables, Macros, etc.)
  • Experience with Six Sigma and productivity improvement

Responsibilities

  • Identify qualified suppliers for program requirements
  • RFQ (request for quote) activities
  • Analyze supplier quotes and make sourcing decisions
  • Supplier negotiations on price, lead times and terms & conditions
  • Manage open purchase orders and supply base to ensure products arrive on time based on contractual date
  • Post-award ownership in accordance with company directives and work instructions
  • Assist with AP invoice related inquiries and resolution activities
