About The Position

The Buyer I supports the purchasing function by executing purchase orders, managing routine material requisitions, and coordinating with vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials and supplies. This entry-level role focuses on transactional buying and supporting production through accurate procurement of raw materials, hardware, laminates, veneers, and other millwork components.

Requirements

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and ERP systems.

Nice To Haves

• Associate degree or equivalent experience in supply chain, business, or related field.
• 0–2 years purchasing experience (manufacturing or construction preferred).
• Basic knowledge of materials used in millwork (hardware, sheet goods, laminates, etc.) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process purchase requisitions and issue purchase orders in accordance with company policies.
• Obtain quotes from approved suppliers and compare pricing, lead times, and delivery terms.
• Maintain accurate data in ERP/MRP system (e.g., Epicor, JobBoss, or similar).
• Track order confirmations, delivery schedules, and resolve discrepancies.
• Communicate with Production and Engineering regarding delivery schedules and substitutions.
• Support Materials Department with vendor follow-up, expediting, and documentation.
• Maintain accurate purchasing and vendor records.
• Assist with inventory control and cycle counting activities.
