About The Position

As a Buyer in Materials Management at NARMC, you will procure medical and non-medical supplies, maintain vendor relationships, and ensure our hospital operates efficiently. Job Summary The Buyer is responsible for procuring medical and non-medical supplies and equipment, preparing and negotiating vendor contracts, and managing purchase orders to support the hospital’s operational needs.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 2 years’ experience in Materials Management or inventory control
  • Basic computer knowledge and purchasing experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well with others
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Meditech or similar inventory management systems
  • Knowledge of healthcare supply chain processes

Responsibilities

  • Review Meditech reports daily to monitor supply inventory levels and anticipate purchase needs.
  • Create and process purchase orders for stock items reaching pre-determined reorder points.
  • Place orders with vendors via phone or electronic transmission as needed.
  • Meet with sales representatives to discuss and place orders.
  • Pick up supplies from vendors and ensure delivery to NARMC.
  • Provide support to department positions as needed, including Stock Clerk, Receiving Clerk, and Printer roles.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchase orders and vendor communications.
