About The Position

Penn Union, located in Edinboro, PA, is a growing manufacturer of electrical connectors serving the global electrical market. We are seeking a Buyer I to join our Supply Chain team. This role is responsible for supporting procurement activities to ensure timely material availability while balancing quality, cost, and delivery requirements.

Requirements

• Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Outlook, Word)
• Excellent communication, organization, and computer skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field (preferred)
• 1 to 3 years of related purchasing or supply chain experience (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Direct inventory procurement and planning activities, considering: Material quality, Pricing and cost competitiveness, Material receipt dates, Customer delivery commitments, Production schedules
• Place purchase orders with suppliers to support customer demand and production schedules.
• Attend production meetings and provide status updates on material availability.
• Track and communicate changes in production requirements and customer delivery needs.
• Maintain accurate internal communications regarding: Inventory receipts, Cost discrepancies, Supply issues that could impact production or delivery schedules
• Build and maintain strong professional relationships with assigned suppliers to improve: Product quality, Cost efficiency, Supplier performance through continuous improvement efforts
• Monitor supplier delivery performance and expedite orders when necessary.
• Resolve delivery conflicts to ensure materials arrive on time and target goals are achieved.
• Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures.
