The Buyer 1 / Inventory Control Associate position is an opportunity to join the Inventory Control Department in Livonia, MI. This role is crucial for ensuring that the inventory management processes run smoothly and efficiently, contributing to the overall success of the company. As a Buyer 1 / Inventory Control Associate, you will be responsible for preparing and entering purchase orders, verifying inventory availability, and maintaining a comprehensive database of vendors and product maintenance. You will solicit bid proposals and review requisitions for goods and services, ensuring that all procurement processes are followed accurately. Monitoring shipments to ensure timely delivery of goods is a key aspect of this role, and you will need to trace shipments and follow up on undelivered goods when issues arise. In addition to these responsibilities, you will serve as a liaison between the department and outside vendors, addressing any questions and resolving problems related to orders. You will also instruct Sales department personnel on policies and procedures for obtaining materials and products, analyze inventory needs, and review backorders for purchasing requirements. Daily tasks will include processing stock and customer drop shipment purchase orders, reviewing vendor acknowledgments for accuracy, and maintaining the ERP system with pricing changes. You will manage physical inventory and cycle counts, ensuring that stock levels are regularly reviewed and updated, and process inventory adjustments as needed. Other duties may be assigned as necessary to support the department's objectives.
