Busser Starting at $16.60/hr
About The Position
Home Run Inn is looking for enthusiastic, hardworking, and reliable Busser to join our Restaurant Team in Chicago, Garfield Ridge! Job Summary: This job is responsible for maintaining a clean and organized dining room and Kitchen. Pay: In the event your combined wages ($12.62 hourly rate and your earned tips) don’t add up to $16.60, Home Run Inn will still guarantee you are paid $16.60 per hour. Must be available to work weekend/evening shifts, along with some weekdays. (4pm-close) This will be a part-time job offering 12-18 hours per week to start.
Requirements
- Good communication skills to coordinate with Servers and other kitchen staff members.
- Have working knowledge of the predominant language of our guests.
- Ability to work in a fast paced, high volume environment,
- Continuously be able to physically lift, reach, bend and stop.
- Food Handler certification. (Obtain within 30 days of being hired)
- Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 5 hours).
- Frequently be able to safely lift bags, cases and stacks weighing up to 50 pounds with assistance.
- Must have flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be at least 16 years of age
Responsibilities
- Obtain service area assignment at the beginning of each shift.
- Take soiled tableware to dish-room and unload, sort and stack silverware, dishes, glassware, etc. in designated areas in the soiled dish drop off area.
- Between seating promptly clean tabletops, chairs, and booths. Check floor and clean as required. Reset and arrange tabletop to include buffet and or bus station.
- Inspect assigned restroom in timely manner and clean as needed.
- Communicate with server and hostess to assure efficient seating, table utilization and customer service.
- Assist server as needed with food delivery, especially with large parties and during peak periods.
- Thank guests as they are leaving
- Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the restaurant manager or immediate supervisor.
- Clean, mop and sweep various areas as assigned. Remove Trash.
- Assist in glass washing and stock for clean glasses.
- Assist manager/bartenders with bar stock at the end of shift
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
