Position Summary A Busser/Barback supports the physical atmosphere and cleanliness of the restaurant, including the dining room and bar area. This role serves to improve the guest experience by expediting the availability of tables in the restaurant or seating at the bar, ensuring guests are seated in a timely manner. Essential Duties and Responsibilities The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following: Interact with guests in a friendly and efficient manner ; ensure guests’ complete satisfaction by exceeding their expectations – this includes ensuring the table is clean and that utensils, napkins, and other needs have been provided. Assists with other restaurant tasks such as cleaning the dining or bar area and preparing silverware and condiments, this could include during the opening and closing of the restaurant. Clear and reset tables or bar area. Remove all dishes and other items from the table following the meal. Clean and prepare table or bar area for new guests in accordance with the company’s standards. Set up and break down the dining room for each shift. Support waiters, bartenders, and kitchen staff in other duties as required. Retrieving products or stocking of products for dining or bar area, this could include beer, wine and spirits, condiments, ice, glassware, or fresh produce, amongst other items necessary to maintain service. Prepare bar for service to include cutting, slicing, and peeling perishable garnishes and fruits, and storing backup supplies in prescribed containers. Maintain complete knowledge of the restaurant’s food and beverage preparation and menu, with the ability to answer customer questions. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
