About The Position

The Bus Person position at Atlantis' Toucan Charlie's Buffet & Grille is a full-time role focused on supporting food servers and maintaining a clean and organized dining environment. The primary responsibilities include clearing and setting up tables, assisting guests with their needs, and ensuring the bus station is well-stocked and sanitary. This position is essential for providing excellent guest service and maintaining the restaurant's operational standards.

Requirements

  • Previous bussing experience is preferred.
  • Ability to lift and transport tubs of dishes and silverware, must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be guest-oriented.
  • Must adhere to all appearance standards, including no visible tattoos/piercings or unnatural hair colors.

Responsibilities

  • Stock and maintain bus/dish cart station.
  • Ensure necessary supplies, silverware, dishes, and paper products are available.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the bus station area(s).
  • Perform assigned opening duties to ensure a clean and well-organized station with proper supply levels.
  • Ensure that the dining room is in guest ready condition.
  • Remove unused settings, clear dirty dishes, and provide water, coffee, iced tea, and soda refills as requested.
  • Pre-bus (remove excess dishes) from tables throughout the shift.
  • Approach tables promptly with a warm greeting.
  • Assist the Food Servers with guest service.
  • Greet and seat guests when a host/hostess is not present.
  • Clear and reset tables quickly as guests depart.
  • Remove all dishes and glassware from tables after guests have left.
  • Clean table surfaces and ensure proper sanitation.
  • Set tables in the proper order according to company expectations.
  • Use a tray/bus tub at all times to clear tables and deliver beverages.
  • Transport dishes from restaurant bus station area to dishwashing area.
  • Sort and separate silverware, dishes, and glassware in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Maintain thorough housekeeping practices of the assigned station before, during, and after the shift including floors, walls, chairs, and tables.
  • Empty and clean all restaurant trash cans as needed.
  • Routinely check trash cans for discarded tableware and kitchen utensils and retrieve and clean as necessary.
  • Familiarize and be proficient with menus and general restaurant operational policies to answer guests' questions.
