About The Position

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Business Unit Senior Operations Director to join the team. This role involves managing, directing, and controlling the operations of a business unit generally in excess of $450+ million. The position requires providing leadership, direction, and guidance to sector and division managers, ensuring project performance and quality control, and achieving profit and revenue objectives. The focus is on implementing business strategies to achieve financial, operational, service delivery, commercial, quality, safety, client satisfaction, optimal project resourcing, and employee engagement and performance.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in field of practice.
• Post graduate degree preferred.
• Management coursework and/or MBA preferred.
• 20+ years of experience since Bachelor degree, with at least five years in a senior operating management position.
• Excellent technical and people skills.
• Proven ability to manage large scope operations.
• Highly skilled at promoting the firm and negotiating contracts.
• Business vision and excellent communication skills.
• Professional registration in field of practice preferred (e.g., PMP, P.E., P.G., PLS, R.A., or RLA).

Responsibilities

• Manage and direct the operations of a business unit with a budget of over $450 million.
• Provide leadership and guidance to sector and division managers.
• Ensure project performance and quality control.
• Achieve profit and revenue objectives.
• Develop and promote a strong commercial and business acumen culture.
• Ensure compliance with commercial requirements including contracts and subcontracts.
• Oversee budget adherence and forecasting activities.
• Support strategies for market penetration and client maintenance.
• Ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
• Coordinate project staffing and resource allocation.
• Monitor compliance with quality control standards.
• Select candidates for senior level jobs and conduct performance reviews.
• Collaborate with other BU operations directors for optimal business performance.
