Business Unit Manager – Defense & Aerospace, based onsite in Grand Junction, CO As the Business Unit Manager at Jabil, you will assume full P&L ownership and lead all operational aspects of the Defense & Aerospace business unit supporting defense customers at Jabil’s CNC machining site in Grand Junction, CO. Your focus will be on driving customer satisfaction, optimizing machining and manufacturing performance, and managing strategic negotiations that support profitability and long‑term growth. This role serves as the workcell leader and is fully accountable for the operational and financial success of that workcell.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship required to support defense & aerospace programs.
  • Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree preferred.
  • 8–10+ years of work‑related experience in financial /business management or manufacturing operations with customer facing experience.
  • Experience with P&L responsibility, preferably in a machining or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong negotiation skills with a demonstrated record of successful agreements.
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, particularly CNC machining, and quality management systems.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to perform effectively in a fast‑paced, dynamic, customer‑driven setting.

Responsibilities

  • P&L Management Own the business unit’s financial performance, including revenue growth, cost management, margin attainment, and delivery of profitability targets.
  • Customer Satisfaction Build and maintain strong relationships with key defense & aerospace customers, ensuring program requirements are fully supported and expectations consistently exceeded.
  • Negotiations Lead negotiations with customers, suppliers, and internal partners to secure favorable terms that align with strategic and financial objectives.
  • Manufacturing Operations Provide strategic oversight and direction to CNC machining and associated manufacturing operations, ensuring efficiency, quality, and throughput are maximized.
  • Performance Analysis Analyze operational and financial KPIs to identify improvement opportunities and implement corrective actions based on data‑driven insights.
  • Risk Management Identify business, operational, financial, and customer-related risks and develop proactive mitigation strategies.
  • Compliance Ensure adherence to defense industry regulations, quality standards, and internal policies across all manufacturing and customer operations.
  • Influence & Leadership Use strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills to align cross‑functional teams and drive support for initiatives—even without formal authority.
