About The Position

At Regions, the Business Unit Compliance Analyst plays a crucial role in the first line of defense risk management function, ensuring that business unit activities adhere to necessary rules and regulations while complying with legal boundaries and jurisdictions. This position is designed for individuals who are analytical or procedural experts within a specific line of business and may have full ownership of one or more processes, reports, procedures, or products. The analyst is expected to maintain a proficient knowledge of relevant rules and regulations and their impact on products, services, and operations. The role involves establishing partnerships with line of business leadership, serving as a subject matter expert on compliance-related issues, and conducting thorough research on laws and regulations that affect compliance. This includes monitoring for new laws and changes to existing regulations. The analyst will collaborate with the second line of defense to assess how new laws and regulations impact the business group, focusing on resolving complex problems or transactions that require expertise in interpreting policies, guidelines, or processes. Additionally, the Business Unit Compliance Analyst administers a monitoring and testing program to ensure effective compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. They are responsible for developing business group policies and procedures, providing recommendations to management for final approval, and overseeing the creation and delivery of training to enhance compliance awareness within the assigned business area. The analyst may also supervise the day-to-day work of other professional-level compliance associates, ensuring that compliance standards are met consistently across the organization.
