The Business Systems Manager will oversee all critical aspects of systems operations, ensuring optimal performance and availability in a high-stakes environment. This role encompasses managing configuration setups, conducting system and integration testing, and addressing production issues through effective triage and resolution. The manager will also play a pivotal role in supporting the operations team by defining and constructing reports and queries that provide essential operational data. The position is vital for maintaining systems optimization and ensuring that all operational processes run smoothly and efficiently. In this role, the manager will lead the team in planning and executing various initiatives. Responsibilities include hiring, motivating, coaching, and developing team members while ensuring they have the necessary tools and training to succeed. The manager will evaluate team performance, generate performance plans, and set goals aligned with corporate policies. Additionally, the manager will be responsible for developing and managing the team's budget, ensuring that resources are allocated effectively to meet operational demands. The Business Systems Manager will ensure the successful completion of daily changes, corporate initiatives, and other projects by managing both team and matrixed resources. This includes overseeing the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) activities, which involve request analysis, documentation of requirements, acceptance testing, and the development and maintenance of operating procedures. The manager will also ensure the daily maintenance of various system control files and the processing of trading partner transaction files, while also updating user documentation and producing ad-hoc reports as needed. Collaboration is key in this role, as the manager will direct and participate in planning sessions to align the team's operations with the goals of other departments, IT, and clients. The manager will assist in developing project management plans for various initiatives, providing resource estimates, timeframes, and guiding cost/benefit analyses for business cases. Furthermore, the manager will oversee corporate processes for systems change management, ensuring that all requests are submitted, reviewed, validated, prioritized, scheduled, and reported on effectively.
