The Business Systems Analysis focus specializes in the evaluation of business problems and potential for automated solutions. Assists in identifying, evaluating and specification development for systems and procedures that are cost effective and meet requirements. Executes unit, integration and acceptance testing for systems that meet business needs.

Requirements

  • Education: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or higher in information systems, computer science or a related technical field
  • To be eligible for this position your final graduation date must fall between December 2026 and August 2027
  • You must be available to work 40 hours/week for the full duration of the internship program as outlined in the cohort dates below. Limited exceptions may be granted. Viasat offers two options based on semester and quarter academic calendars:
  • Cohort 1: May 18, 2026 – August 14, 2026
  • Cohort 2: June 22, 2026 – September 18, 2026
  • Familiarity with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, Dynamics).
  • Familiarity with visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Looker).
  • Experience with data analysis.
  • U.S. Citizenship or U.S. Permanent Resident status required.

Responsibilities

  • Analyzes complex business problems to be solved with automated systems.
  • Identifies gaps and provides technical expertise in business requirements for system functional specifications and scales new and current systems, processes and procedures in a cost effective manner.
  • Develop user flows, process maps, and requirement documents to clarify business needs and system interactions
  • Configures system settings and options; plans and executes unit, integration and acceptance testing to meet business requirements.
  • Help track and communicate requirement changes, decisions, and dependencies throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Works on projects of limited scope with detailed instructions.
  • Requires guided leadership and detailed instruction from manager and more senior team members on day-to-day work. Takes ownership of work and applies general practices and processes to resolve routine issues.
  • Learns to use professional concepts and seeks assistance, when needed.
