Zurich North America is seeking a Business Systems Analyst III to join our Finance IT team at our North American Headquarters in Schaumburg, Illinois. In this role, you will be part of a team supporting financial projects, operations, billing systems, and more helping us deliver reliable and effective solutions for our business. As a Business Systems Analyst, you will be an active member of our Agile Scrum/Kanban Development team collaborating closely with the Business and Data Management. You will help identify business system needs, understand objectives and processes, and use your insights to define, document, and implement systems scope and objectives to develop and provides solutions. In your key role, you will also profile, analyze, and document technical requirements for Zurich North America's data warehousing system ensuring your assigned Agile team has a clear and actionable backlog.

  • Master complex data transformations concepts, including data warehousing principles.
  • Write and interpret SQL queries to query data within the warehouse.
  • Analyze and interpret data from various sources.
  • Capture requirements in a formal manner.
  • Collaborate with the team to translate business needs/requirements into technical specifications/user stories.
  • Coordinate and drive activities with product owners and business stakeholders to refine prioritized backlog and gather requirements.
  • Document detailed functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Identify data most valuable to the organization and evaluate this data and alignment with the corporate data model.
  • Manage business rules to enhance and optimize filtering results.
  • Use requirements management tools and techniques such as JIRA documenting backlog (epics, user stories, etc.), Persona models, Use Cases, Data Matrix, Process Flow Diagrams, etc.
  • Support development, testing, implementation, and some training activities.
  • Understand and apply delivery approaches (i.e., Agile methodology, Scrum/Kanban) and perform business analysis processes in accordance with Zurich frameworks.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or Computer Science or Engineering and 8 or more years of experience in the Information Technology area OR High School Diploma or Equivalent and 10 or more years of experience in the Information Technology area.
  • Insurance application system design/analysis experience.
  • Experience with use case development.
  • Experience with Rapid Application Development (RAD) tools/techniques.
  • Strong SQL skills.
  • Agile (Scrum/Kanban) Methodology.
  • Data Warehouse experience / normalized tables.
  • Finance or Insurance industry experience.
  • Data Profiling and Data Mapping experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication experience.
  • Databricks knowledge.
  • Experience with IBM RSA.
