About The Position

The Business Systems Analyst (Actuarial IT) is responsible for eliciting, analyzing and documenting business and technical requirements for Agile scrum teams and project initiatives. The role involves collaborating across business units to support the Actuarial Data Center, gathering and documenting business needs, retiring outdated processes and contributing to modernization efforts using AWS. The position also supports user acceptance testing, bug remediation, production processes and continuous communication with Actuarial business units.

Responsibilities

  • Elicit, analyze and document business and technical requirements for Agile scrum teams and project initiatives
  • Collaborate across business units to understand requirements for the Actuarial Data Center
  • Document business needs, gather necessary data and retire outdated processes
  • Perform analysis and coding in SAS, SQL, R and/or Python.
  • Contribute to modernization efforts using AWS
  • Assist in user acceptance testing, identify and remediate bugs and implement improvements
  • Support production processes and maintain communication with Actuarial business units
  • Facilitate business requirement sessions with stakeholders across the organization, developing comprehensive documentation that aligns with business needs
  • Translate business requirements into functional specifications, working in tandem with IT resources to develop technical solutions
  • Collaborate with delivery team resources within the agile framework to create and refine user stories (JIRA), coordinating user acceptance testing to ensure quality standards are met
  • Provide support for incident and defect management for BAU and/or project deliveries
  • Serve as backup for other BSAs during projects, refinement sessions and Production Support activities
  • Implement best practices to ensure consistency in standards and execution.
