About The Position

Requirements

• Two years of acute care experience and knowledge of medical terminology.
• Typing skills (for use in computer functions).
• Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties.
• Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System.

Nice To Haves

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Current enrollment in an American Health Information Management Association approved medical record technician program, or successful completion of the program with current licensure.
• Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms.

Responsibilities

• Processing of discharged inpatients' Same Day Surgery, GI Lab and Emergency Room records for completeness in compliance with Los Alamitos Medical Staff Rules and Regulations.
• Ensures that the goals and objectives for record analysis are met and maintained.
