About The Position

Business Systems Analyst 1s in the Office of Technology and Innovation (T&I) work under the direction of a BSA 2 and are responsible for assisting in the definition and development of requirements for enhancements or changes to business processes, computer systems and related technologies for NYSDOL programs. In this capacity, BSA 1 duties include, but are not limited to: Design, create, test, and maintain new digital intelligent forms to collect, validate, and communicate business-critical information and data seamlessly across the organization, streamline information collection processes, automate communications and data collection, empower business users to make strategic decisions, and make forms more accessible and user friendly. Assist with user acceptance testing of application enhancements. Understand our business model and process to configure Salesforce to fit our needs. Research and document current or state-of-the-art business practices and processes and analyze viability of integration into agency programs. Identify and document current system needs and limitations to be addressed with technology solutions. Coordinate with vendors & Salesforce API partners and ongoing relationships with the Salesforce support team. Assist with training on new procedures, software, digital forms and/or the creation or modification of procedure manuals. Stay current with Salesforce platform updates, features, and best practices to identify opportunities for system improvements. Maintain data integrity in Salesforce by managing record deduplication, performing data imports and updates, and supporting data cleanup initiatives. Assist in writing business procedures, developing or revising digital forms, writing user guides, developing training manuals, and training agency end users. Help users, create and keep content of all training material up to date; work with the Training team to make the document(s) uniform/consistent. Understand and track all future enhancement requests to include detailed needs and requirements. In coordination with staff from Office of Information Technology Services (ITS), perform duties associated with the support, maintenance, and improvement of NYSDOL computer applications and accounts.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's or higher degree.
  • For Business Systems Analyst Trainee 2: A bachelor's degree and one year of professional business analysis experience.
  • For Business Systems Analyst 1: A bachelor's degree and two years of business analysis experience in a large-scale automated system.
