About The Position

The New York State Education Department's (NYSED) Office of Performance Improvement and Management Services (PIMS) is seeking candidates for a Business Systems Analyst 1 position in the Project Management Office. The incumbent will perform various duties such as collaborate with project managers to collect agency requirements, develop functional and technical requirements, create new business processes, and support testing activities for case management system. Duties of this position include, but are not limited to, the following: Assists in gathering requirements for multiple projects within the NYSED Office of Project Management; Develops business use cases for projects and provides analysis for business process improvement related to projects with the Office of Project Management; Develops training materials and documents processes related to the Office and myriad projects managed for the Department within the Office; Assists with development of standardized practices and creates requirements documentation to help promote standard process procedures for ITS modernization activities; Identifies priorities among projects and escalates issues and concerns to Director; Assists with project coordination, prioritization, and management for Department project requests that come through the Jira request system; Documents work and projects in Jira and Confluence; Assists software development projects with Quality Assurance(QA) testing and review of migrated data and reports; Assists with development of all 'As Is' requirements related to upcoming system enhancement projects; Assists with development of all 'To Be' requirements related to upcoming system enhancement projects; Serves as the primary contact in the Office of Project Management for various type of consultants, such as HBITS, PBITS, project titles, and more, that need oversight and assistance with onboarding, daily operations, and offboarding; Works with low-code vendors to document requirements and assists program offices with training and implementation of low-code solutions managed by the Office of Project Management; Assists with development of RFPs, RFQs, and other large project materials; and Communicates timelines and milestones to ITS and Director based on requirements from program offices and within the standards of the Office of Project Management.
