Description: What you'll be doing Another Source’s client, University of California, Davis , is recruiting a Business Systems Analyst to join their team in Davis and Sacramento , CA . You will have the opportunity to work a hybrid schedule, coming into the office 2 days each week. Here’s a little about UC Davis Continuing and Professional Education and the position they are recruiting for: UC Davis Continuing and Professional Education (CPE) is the lifelong learning arm of UC Davis, serving more than 55,000 learners annually and offering one of the most diverse program portfolios in the University of California system. CPE supports regional, national, and global learners through pre-college programs, workforce development, international education, professional training, and instructional services for campus academic units. With 180 employees and approximately 1,700 instructors, CPE is a global leader in continuing and professional education. What you will be doing: Reporting to the Assistant Director of Applications Management, this role will provide business systems analysis, project support, and technical consultation to drive technology solutions, business intelligence, and project management advancements across the division. The position plays a critical role in evaluating business needs, developing system requirements, identifying technical solutions, and supporting application enhancements across multiple platforms. The analyst will work closely with cross-functional partners to translate business needs into system requirements, improve operational efficiency, implement and enhance enterprise applications, and support the university’s mission through data-informed decision-making. Responsibilities include conducting data analysis to identify trends and insights, preparing detailed reports and recommendations for senior leadership, and contributing to business cases and cost-benefit analyses for new initiatives. This position is ideal for a systems-minded, analytical professional who thrives in collaborative environments and enjoys leading process improvements and technology-driven projects. The role offers the opportunity to manage multiple projects simultaneously, lead change management efforts, develop training materials, and drive continuous improvement in project management practices across the division.

  • Collaborate with divisional stakeholders to gather, document, and analyze requirements.
  • Translate business needs into technical specifications and system models.
  • Conduct data analysis to identify trends and insights supporting strategic decisions.
  • Recommend solutions that enhance efficiency, optimize workflows, and meet stakeholder needs.
  • Support implementation, configuration, upgrades, and maintenance of applications including Smartsheet, Destiny One, AirTable , Salesforce, and others.
  • Develop dashboards, reports, and data visualizations to support operational and leadership decision-making.
  • Provide documentation, training, and user support.
  • Lead and manage cross-functional projects from initiation to completion.
  • Develop project plans, define timelines, identify resources, and monitor progress.
  • Drive change management activities, conduct user acceptance testing, and support rollout of new systems and processes.
  • Monitor project KPIs and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or discipline and/or equivalent training or relevant work experience
  • Experience in business systems analysis, using analytical, problem-solving and management skills to independently research, develop, take ownership of, and confidently identify technical solutions to complex problems and issues
  • Experience implementing, managing and upgrading multiple applications as well as creating reports and dashboards
  • Experience managing projects and leading project teams including determining priorities, delegating responsibilities, exercising independent judgment, collaborating with colleagues, and making appropriate decisions
  • Experience providing technical training, documentation, guidance, and support to clients
  • Experience gathering and documenting functional and technical requirements from multiple, cross-functional stakeholders using appropriate methodologies
  • Interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills including diplomacy and the ability to explain complex technical and conceptual information to individuals of varying technical expertise
  • Technical knowledge of integrations between business systems ( e.g. Destiny One, Smartsheet, AirTable , Salesforce)
  • Business Analysis Certification
  • Salesforce, Smartsheet and/or AirTable Certification
  • Experience creating dashboards or using data visualization applications to inform business decisions
  • Experience working in student information systems
  • Experience in quality assurance, user acceptance testing and monitoring of key performance indicators as part of project implementation and change management
  • Experience and demonstrable proficiency with SaaS such as Smartsheet, AirTable , and/or Salesforce
  • Experience working in a technical landscape of an educational institution
  • Knowledge of LEAN, agile, or equivalent methodologies
