About The Position

Provide technical support in all areas of district Finance/Human Resource systems. Be able to analyze, identify, and resolve business system issues and assist in the development of documentation to improve level of technical support. Document failure trend analysis and recommend solutions to Business System Manager. Provide guidance for training needs of district Finance/Human Resource system users. Adhere to federal and state laws, as well as, district policies, procedures, and regulations.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Computer Science Field of Study or sixty hours of college credit with fifteen semester hours in Information Technology, Computer Science or math and two (2) years of experience in Technology Resources; general knowledge of computers and operational support; ability to communicate effectively with both information technology personnel and district end-users; ability to follow Business System Support operations.
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
  • Maintain emotional control under stress.
  • Have repetitive hand motions and prolonged use of the computer.
  • Regular district wide travel; occasional prolonged and irregular hours.
  • Subject to the district drug and alcohol testing policy and regulation.
  • Texas or New Mexico driver’s license; insurable by the district’s auto liability insurance carrier.

Responsibilities

  • Follow established Accounts Payable/Payroll schedule for execution of periodic finance processes and assist in preparation andimprovement of computer operations schedule.
  • Secure Payroll/Accounts Payable checks before, during, and after printing.
  • Create, maintain, and transmit ACH and positive pay files for Payroll/Accounts Payable.
  • Process payroll pre-note file as needed and transmit child support file.
  • Serve as secondary department liaison with bank to ensure all electronic Payroll/Accounts Payable files meet bank specificationsand all pertinent information is updated.
  • Provides technical support and problem resolution to all district personnel for Finance/Human Resource systems.
  • Process PEIMS Unique IDs through Texas Student Data System (TSDS) monthly, or more frequently when there are a significantnumber of new hires.
  • Record, track, correspond, and document resolution of user problems.
  • Create, maintain, and update reference documentation on district supported business application systems.
  • Participate in the implementation, installation, and testing, of business application systems.
  • Possess extensive knowledge in Microsoft Office and intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Reporting Services and Crystal Reports.
  • Maintain working knowledge of all district business information systems in order to provide an optimal level of support.
  • Attendance at the work site is required to meet essential functions of the job.
  • Participate in professional development activities as required by the district.
  • Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties; support district/department goals.
  • Maintain a professional code of ethics and perform other duties as assigned.
