About The Position

Are you interested in joining a team of go-getters dedicated to serving and uplifting the community? Join Detroit Pistons team and our mission to empower our community! Our Summer 2026 Internship Program is an 10-week program crafted to provide college students and recent graduates with a once in a lifetime opportunity within the sports and entertainment industry. We designed our program to deliver real life, hands-on experience that can be readily applied to future challenges and professional pursuits. We are seeking a team member with a positive, upbeat attitude that can connect with a diverse population, and we are excited to meet you!

Requirements

  • Available for the full duration of the internship.
  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s program. Business, Economics, Engineering or other quantitative field (Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, etc.) preferred.
  • Passion for the sports and entertainment industry with intellectual curiosity to understand the business of professional sports.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex ideas clearly and persuasively.
  • Collaborative and relationship-oriented with motivation to bring teams together.
  • Positive, solution-centric mindset.
  • Strategic thinker who thrives in ambiguity and enjoys critical problem solving.
  • Readily able to uncover key themes from disparate information.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize complex data and draw insightful conclusions from it.
  • Organized and proactive in managing projects and deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and presentation tools (i.e., Keynote or PowerPoint).

Nice To Haves

  • Previous exposure to strategy-related areas (e.g., consulting, project management, or strategic analysis) preferred.
  • Familiarity with technical tools such as SQL and Tableau.

Responsibilities

  • Drive an impactful initiative intended to stretch thinking and deliver real-world value to the Detroit Pistons. This process includes scoping, researching, synthesizing information, and presenting a recommendation.
  • Research trends, seek to understand the Pistons business, and synthesize insights to inform organizational decision-making.
  • Create deliverables summarizing findings for easy digestibility across the organization.
  • Collaborate with various teams across the organization (e.g., marketing, ticketing, and operations) to analyze information, structure ideas, and develop actionable insights.
  • Work with fellow interns on a business challenge, network across departments, and grow a toolkit of strategic and leadership skills.
