About The Position

The Business Specialist II position at First Financial Bank involves developing and maintaining profitable small business banking relationships within the Consumer Bank. The role focuses on the holistic and long-term needs of business owners, acting as a trusted advisor. Responsibilities include identifying client needs, recommending deposit and loan products, negotiating terms, coordinating loan approvals, managing deposit accounts, and referring clients to key partners. The Business Specialist is also responsible for developing core client relationships, seeking new opportunities, and providing training and guidance to promote growth in the small business segment. This position is part of the Small Business Segment team, which aims to position First Financial as the community bank for small business owners and their families.

Requirements

  • 5-7 years of client experience in Retail Banking or financial services.
  • 5-7 years of sales and service experience with a track record of achieving goals.
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in sales preferred.
  • Familiarity with consumer and small business credit.
  • Demonstrated success in consultative, needs-based selling.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Strong product knowledge related to consumer and commercial banking.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain profitable small business banking relationships.
  • Identify client needs and recommend appropriate banking products.
  • Negotiate deposit and loan terms and coordinate loan approvals.
  • Open and manage deposit accounts for small business clients.
  • Develop core client relationships and seek new business opportunities.
  • Provide training and guidance to banking centers to promote small business growth.
  • Engage in activities to support consumer bank strategies and objectives.
  • Manage and deepen client relationships with a focus on credit and deposit exposure.
  • Initiate and maintain client contact through various strategies.
  • Coordinate new loan origination requests and conduct loan closings.
  • Serve as a liaison for financial center teams regarding small business products.
  • Participate in marketing and sales promotions focused on small businesses.
  • Ensure compliance with all bank, loan, and regulatory guidelines.
