About The Position

The Business Solutions Analyst is responsible for bridging the gap between business needs and technology solutions to optimize organizational processes and performance. This individual collaborates with stakeholders to identify challenges, gather requirements, and design innovative solutions that align with business objectives. A Business Solutions Analyst performs business systems analysis and is responsible for work that involves applying analytical processes to the planning, design and implementation of new and improved business information systems and business processes to meet the business requirements of customer organizations. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s-level degree from a recognized college or university. A recognized college or university is defined as an institution of higher learning approved by the Office of Higher Education of any given state or a foreign college or university of comparable standing. Alternatively, qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
  • NOTE: If no degree, Resource would need to demonstrate a total of nine (9) years of experience to meet MQ #2 below (i.e., minimum five (5) years + four (4) additional qualifying years). A recognized college or university is defined as an institution of higher learning approved by the Office of Higher Education of any given state or a foreign college or university of comparable standing.
  • Five (5) years of experience applying analytical processes on IT projects. At least three (3) years of that experience must have been in business systems analysis and design.
  • Three (3) years of experience in analyzing legislative mandates and regulations to identify their impact on system requirements.
  • Three (3) years of experience preparing PAL documentation and artifacts for IT projects, specifically for Stages 3 and 4.
  • Must be able to pass a background check. May require additional background checks as required by projects and/or clients at any time during employment.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate in a clear, professional, and articulate manner.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with high-level attention to detail.

Alternatively, additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
  • NOTE: If no Master’s degree, Resource would need to demonstrate an additional two (2) years of experience in addition to the experience used to meet MQ 1.
  • Six (6) or more years of experience applying analytical processes on IT projects. At least four (4) years of that experience must have been in business systems analysis and design.
  • Four (4) or more years of experience in analyzing legislative mandates and regulations to identify their impact on system requirements.
  • Four (4) or more years of experience preparing PAL documentation and artifacts for IT projects, specifically for Stages 3 and 4.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand and document business requirements and objectives.
  • Analyze existing processes, systems, and workflows to identify areas for improvement.
  • Translate business needs into detailed functional and technical specifications.
  • Research, evaluate, and propose technology solutions to address business challenges and improve efficiency.
  • Design and document processes, systems, and workflows aligned with organizational goals.
  • Work with development teams to ensure solutions meet business requirements and are technically feasible.
  • Serve as the liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring effective communication and understanding of requirements.
  • Collaborate with project managers to track progress and ensure timely delivery of solutions.
  • Support testing efforts by validating functionality against requirements and identifying issues.
  • Assist in solution deployment and provide post-implementation support, including user training and documentation.
  • Analyze business data to uncover trends, insights, and opportunities for optimization.
  • Recommend actionable strategies based on quantitative and qualitative data analysis.
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization and recommend industry best practices.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of existing solutions to identify areas for improvement.
  • Stay informed on emerging technologies and trends to drive innovation.
  • Other duties as assigned
