About The Position

The Business Services Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, programming, and support of multi-line business voice and data systems. This role works with key systems, PBX systems, IP telephony, and Integrated Access Devices to support MaxxSouth Broadband customers. The technician also manages service modifications, moves, and changes, performs preventative maintenance, and partners closely with sales, construction, and installation teams to ensure successful project delivery and high customer satisfaction. This position is responsible for servicing the Northern Mississippi region.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience -required.
  • Valid driver’s license with an insurable driving record -required.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 1-3 years of service and installation technical experience -preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of business and residential telecommunications services -preferred.
  • Working knowledge of broadband networks utilizing coaxial cable and fiber technologies -preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to the Business Services Sales team during pre- and post-sale phases.
  • Interface directly with customers to assess technical requirements and expectations.
  • Evaluate service requests and determine the scope of work required for installations.
  • Conduct site surveys, walkouts, and sketches to develop Bills of Materials (BOM).
  • Coordinate construction and installation of business services across Field Operations and Business Services teams.
  • Work closely with the Construction Department to ensure timelines are met for line extensions and installations.
  • Perform field-based technical services, including basic troubleshooting of phone and computer networks.
  • Maintain departmental tracking spreadsheets and documentation related to surveys, construction, installations, and quality checks.
  • Assist and support Business Installers to ensure installations are completed on time and to quality standards.
  • Perform field inspections of new installations to ensure quality and customer satisfaction.
