About The Position

McFarland Clinic is currently accepting applications for a Business Services Supervisor for its Ames clinic location. Candidates should be service-oriented, a team player, and be able to provide extraordinary care, every day to our patients. Responsibilities include: Supervises the day to day operations of the claims follow up team, Monitors work queue metrics to identify and facilitate needed changes to workflows/processes within the Business Services department and/or clinical department(s) and manager. Performs error resolutions requiring independent judgment. Assists with selection, training and orienting departmental personnel. Completes assigned projects, to include data analysis and trending with the utilization of Excel and/or Google spreadsheets. Designs work schedules including flexible work hours and work assignments. Recommends staffing additions and/or changes. Assists in preparing departmental budgets and allocation of funds. Answers the telephone, screens calls, and directs to the proper source. Follows established policies and procedures. Attends required meetings and participates in committees as requested. Participates in professional development activities and maintains professional affiliations. Maintains confidentiality in regard to patient account status. Performs related work as required. Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED or HiSET
  • Excellent verbal, written communication, computer skills, proficient typing skills
  • Customer service experience and working with the public required
  • Minimum of two years with denial management, including expertise in reviewing denied claims, analyzing denial trends, and appealing denials
  • Pre-employment drug screen and criminal history background checks are a condition of hire
  • CPC or equivalent certification required

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree in business or related field preferred.
  • Prefer one year work experience, preferably in a medical office setting.
