As the Business Services Director you will provide direction and support to the Finance, Membership, Business Systems Analyst functions, and is responsible for related business aspects of the St. Joseph County Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center. The Business Services Director is a key position on the Kroc Executive team and requires candidate to be clearly aligned with the mission of The Salvation Army, in a manner such that they can ensure that the Mission of The Salvation Army is effectively carried out.

  • Share in the development of fiscally sound programs and budgetary requirements with the Kroc Sr. Officer, GM and other appropriate staff teams
  • Work with the Senior Kroc Center Officer and GM to implement, monitor and allocate facility resources according to the budget
  • Provide oversight and direction to the Center's operational and business managers as to their responsibilities concerning budgeting, purchasing, staffing needs, and business development
  • Work closely with the Sr. Kroc Officer and GM in the development of procedures and policies for each venue of the Center.
  • Manage all contracts with vendors and professional service agreements
  • Meet regularly as a part of the Executive Team under the direction of the Senior Kroc Center Officer to participate in setting priorities and recommendations for the Kroc Center
  • Assist in the purchase of equipment and supplies as authorized by the Kroc Sr. Officer and in compliance with budgetary considerations
  • Supervise IT, AVL and Staff Accountant
  • Other tasks as assigned by leadership
  • BA degree in Business or Public Administration or related field, and experience directing operations and business functions in complex organizations. Equivalent combinations of education and experience which, at the sole discretion of The Salvation Army, provide the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform in this role, will be considered
  • Position requires a background check to be completed and all background check results will be reviewed.
  • Progressive experience in developing and administering facility budgets. Experience managing and directing a staff of varied functions. Equivalent combinations of education and experience which, at the sole discretion of The Salvation Army, provide the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform in this role, will be considered
  • Must have a valid driver's license and maintain The Salvation Army Driver's qualification standard; must complete Safe From Harm and CPR training within the first 30 days of employment.
  • Able to speak, write and understand English in a manner sufficient for effective communication with leadership, field personnel, and clientele.
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft products and ability to learn electronic reporting systems.
  • Maintain a professional attitude and approach to problem solving
  • Good speaking, hearing and vision ability, and excellent manual dexterity
  • Lifting, pulling, and pushing of materials up to 25 pounds
  • May require bending, squatting, walking.

  • The accrual rate is based upon years of service and approved hours worked.
