CLA is looking to hire a Business Risk Services Principal to join our team. A Principal at CliftonLarsonAllen LLP (CLA) is a senior leadership role accountable for driving firm growth, developing client relationships, delivering high‑quality client engagements, and developing people. As a Business Risk Services Principal, you will be responsible for the following:

Requirements

  • You have at least 10 years of recent public accounting experience preferably in internal/and or external auditing, including financial institutions or financial services companies
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • You have a CPA, CIA, or CISA.
  • Experience with internal audit, risk management, cybersecurity and/or SOX testing required.
  • Excellent client relationship management skills and a track record of successful client engagements.
  • Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop a team of professionals.
  • Willing to travel as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Drive business development efforts, identifying opportunities to expand the firm's service offerings and client base.
  • Develop and deepen relationships with existing clients and identify seamless opportunities to expand services.
  • Participate in marketing and networking activities to promote CLA's Business Risk services.
  • Actively interact with industry groups, either internally or through external associations, to build CLA’s market presence and expertise.
  • Prepare proposals, presentations, and thought leadership materials to support business development initiatives.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, serving as a trusted advisor on risk management and business resilience.
  • Identify client needs, develop tailored risk management solutions, and deliver high-quality advisory services.
  • Oversee engagements, ensuring timely and effective delivery of services.
  • Lead and deliver project and engagement results, ensuring quality, relevance, and client value.
  • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments, identifying potential risks and developing strategies to mitigate them.
  • Advise clients on regulatory compliance, operational risks, cyber risks, financial risks, and strategic risks.
  • Participate in the implementation of risk management frameworks, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintain accountability for outcomes across engagements, including scope, execution, and client satisfaction.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and emerging risks to provide insightful advice to clients.
  • Lead and grow a team of risk management professionals, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous development.
  • Mentor and develop team members, providing guidance on career progression and professional growth.
  • Serve as a trusted internal leader within the firm, contributing to culture, collaboration, and accountability.
