The Opportunity We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Tax Reporting Analyst who will be an integral part of our Annuity Operations team to ensure superior service to our clients. In this role, you will be responsible for verifying and correcting data on tax forms that go out to our clients, as well as client statements that are sent out on a quarterly and annual basis. You will also be tasked with performing testing for quality control of processes related to this work.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1 to 3 years of related experience.
  • As appropriate for line of business, insurance licensure and/or certifications may be required.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree
  • Annuity knowledge/processing experience and tax knowledge is a plus
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Experience working with text and data files.

Responsibilities

  • Actively gain, maintain, and apply knowledge of our life and annuity business, its processes, and its various associated regulations and reporting requirements.
  • Statement and Form Accuracy Review client statements, tax forms, and other regulatory summaries for accuracy, compliance with company and regulatory requirements, and for data integrity within our systems.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies in statement and tax reporting data.
  • Correct erroneous data and issue corrected forms to clients and tax authorities in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with our vendors and IT partners to process client output.
  • Maintain client records, reports, and other related information in administering client business.
  • Tax Withholding Reconciliation Reconcile tax withholding amounts for processed transactions ensuring amounts withheld in our administrative system match those reflected in our tax management system.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies found.
  • Client Communication Answer inquiries from clients regarding statements, tax reporting, calculations, and corrected forms.
  • Research and resolve customer complaints and other issues escalated from Operations, Sales, and Legal.
  • Document resolution steps and process any applicable corrections.
  • Manage regulatory mailings including data extraction, mail merge generation, and print production coordination.
  • Identify and recommend potential training and improvements to processes.
  • Participate in projects to review and test impact to statements and tax reporting due to system upgrades, new product launches, changes in regulatory environment, etc.
  • Provide guidance, technical advice, training and assistance to team members and other functional areas.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
