About The Position

The Business Process Owner Senior at USAA will support Medicare Supplement Claims for the Life Company Claims Operations. This role is crucial for ensuring the flawless execution of business processes related to claims, working closely with third-party suppliers and key business partners. The position involves leading complex process planning, problem definition, and implementation of business processes while managing operational risks and compliance. The individual will also be responsible for aligning processes with the overall experience strategy and vision of the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or 4 years of related experience may be substituted in lieu of degree (Total of 10 years without bachelor's degree).
  • 6 years of business process execution/knowledge/experience, consulting, and/or process engineering/optimization.
  • Experience in applying quality management, process improvement, and problem-solving tools and methodologies.
  • Hands-on experience with Process Mapping and Modeling and creating and validating process documentation.
  • Experience with process management standards and knowledge of applicable regulations and risk management practices.
  • Demonstrated experience with Lean, Business Process Management, or similar methodology.
  • Experience utilizing various systems to collect and analyze data.

Nice To Haves

  • US military experience through military service or as a military spouse/domestic partner.
  • 7 or more years of Medicare Supplement/Medicare claims knowledge and/or experience.
  • Working knowledge of Medicare State and Federal Regulations.
  • Knowledge of Medicare coding, billing, and allowed and denied services.
  • Experience with Medicare Exhausted claims and other categories of Medicare claim settlements.
  • Extensive experience working health claims and/or health insurance products.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic customer-specific business process program plans that align with enterprise strategy.
  • Lead the alignment and development of business deliverable processes to improve business performance.
  • Manage the performance of processes by developing control limits and monitoring key performance indicators.
  • Identify, own, execute, enhance, and align controls to mitigate operational and compliance risks.
  • Develop communication plans for customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Utilize reporting, data, and analytics to measure process and project performance.
  • Lead solution development including business case and benefits substantiation for process improvement initiatives.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance support for team and applicable business partners.
  • Ensure risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled.
