About The Position

Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is seeking a First Line Manager (Level K) to lead the BDS Sapphire Manufacturing team responsible for delivering the Siemens Opcenter MES solution and supporting enterprise Manufacturing Digital Transformation efforts across all BDS production sites. The manager will lead a cross-functional team that defines requirements, designs solutions, develops, and tests the Opcenter MES, as well as coordinates retirement of MESci (Manufacturing Execution System Common Image). This role requires strong leadership, MES domain knowledge, and the ability to coordinate across Project Sapphire integrated product teams (IPTs). This position can be located in Saint Louis MO, El Segundo CA, Huntsville AL, Kent WA, Mesa AZ, or Ridley Park PA. The BDS Sapphire Manufacturing team is responsible for the following areas of scope: Order Creation & Change Management, Production Planning & Reporting, Shop Order Execution, and Integrated Kitting.

Requirements

  • Bachelors’ Degree or higher
  • 5 or more years of Boeing manufacturing experience
  • 3 or more years of experience leading or managing a team
  • Excellent problem solving, interpersonal, time management, and organization skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite
  • This position must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements.
  • To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required.
  • “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage team members responsible for process & requirements definition, integrated design, development support, and functional testing of Siemens Opcenter.
  • Coordinate team activities, dependencies, and priorities with Project Sapphire and other Sapphire IPTs (ERP and PDM).
  • Facilitate intake, triage, and translation of business requirements from stakeholders and other Sapphire IPTs.
  • Own team milestones and prioritize the product backlog to align with BDS Manufacturing and Sapphire priorities.
  • Document and communicate common business processes to support BDS Manufacturing Digital Transformation, including update of command media as needed.
  • Drive site-level manufacturing engagement to enable Opcenter implementation per the Sapphire and MES delivery plan.
  • Integrate team activities into team- and project-level Integrated Master Schedule (IMS); track and report performance to plan.
  • Identify, document, communicate, and manage risks, issues, and opportunities (RIO) related to BDS Manufacturing Digital Transformation.
  • Communicate process changes and potential business value to stakeholders.
  • Maintain cadence and collaboration with adjacent technical teams using agile practices; participate in agile ceremonies and continuous improvement.
