About The Position

Are you looking for an exciting new role at Cigna focused on engineering, optimizing, and operationalizing processes that support the activation and ongoing performance of emerging solutions in local markets. The Process Engineer partners closely with market teams, segment leadership, and cross‑functional operational partners to design, document, and improve the end‑to-end processes that enable new IFP deployments and renewals, LocalPlus, HMO, New Business Rates, CSNs, and other initiatives. The Process Engineer is responsible for analyzing current-state workflows, identifying gaps and inefficiencies, developing future-state process designs, and ensuring that all process components integrate seamlessly across functions to deliver scalable, high‑quality market deployments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher strongly preferred or equivalent work experience required.
  • 5+ years of experience in healthcare, operations, engineering, or process improvement environment highly preferred.
  • Strong process engineering and project management skills, including process mapping, workflow optimization, and cross‑functional coordination.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver sustainable process improvements with measurable outcomes.
  • Proven ability to lead within a matrix environment, working effectively with internal teams and external partners.
  • Key Competencies: Comfort navigating ambiguity, strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, and excellent written and oral communication required.
  • If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain awareness of evolving strategies and translate strategic direction into aligned process requirements and engineering needs.
  • Evaluate market, segment, and product strategies to identify process impacts, capacity constraints, and timeline considerations.
  • Lead the creation and documentation of detailed process requirements to ensure accurate and efficient implementation.
  • Identify out‑of‑scope capabilities and communicate process limitations and enhancement opportunities to market, segment, and product teams, escalating to the appropriate value stream when needed.
  • Continuously assess operational risks, dependencies, and bottlenecks; implement mitigation plans and initiate reengineering where necessary.
  • Collaborate with functional process owners to ensure alignment and commitment to process timelines and standards.
  • Maintain all process-related documentation, including process maps, SOPs, RACI charts, status reports, and workflow change logs.
  • Serve as a key contributor to training, communication, and testing plans by providing process expertise and ensuring adoption of new workflows.
  • Coordinate and execute post‑implementation process monitoring, reporting, and traceability to ensure sustainable performance.
  • Drive process adjustments and corrective actions to support the closure of post‑implementation issues.
  • Integrate lessons learned into future-state process designs and deployment plans.
